Folks this 'toon came out of a discussion Jack and I had last night. Dying to know what you make out of this image. TIA for your comments. Karyl

  1. I fired up a few when I saw Obama being interviewed yesterday. At least we FINALLY have an honest President who is man enough to admit mistakes when he makes them. Tip to our President: get a puppy or two real soon to help relieve stress !

  2. It's good, and of course, it's true. I wonder as he sits and steals a smoke he's thinking of that expression ... be careful what you wish for...... Sheila

  3. Priceless, Karyl.....I can't believe he's a smoker though.
He's young enough to know better.

  4. I didn't know he smokes. He's hiding his smoking to preserve his squeaky clean image. Something Phelps was not sneaky enough to consider... Now, if you could combine the Weedies cartoon with this one--you'd really have something!

  5. I think you pegged it! What a perfect, sad little picture of what could be a photo. Poor guy. A non-smoking President would probably start with the present situation. . If he has to sneak a smoke, that's too bad but predictable for anybody who is not ready to quit. I remember the day my dad was on the roof sneaking a smoke on the roof. My mom looked out the door and said," Nick, are you smoking?" "NO", came from from somewhere above her head. "That's funny", she replied," because your shadow is smoking". Eventually, he quit, privately and on his own.

This habit is between him and his family. Long ago, presidents could have vices and people were more concerned with their ability to lead. No crime here, so let's let him smoke if he must and hope he has what it takes to get this country on track. Plus, I personally hope that he will listen to historians who see Afghanistan as a potential Viet Nam trap. I'll send him an ashtray if it helps. They're hard to find. .

  6. It shows that he is just human after all. I mean really, wouldn't you be ready to smoke if you were in his shoes? I'd probably be up to a pack a day. At least it isn't a cigar!

  7. And all this time I have been being told that "I have come a long way, Baby"........and I thought it meant that that I could do as I please. Oh well..........maybe one day I will be as "perfect" as all the non-smokers.
